Vincent Lam has established an illustrious career as a writer and medical doctor. In 2006, he published his first book of short stories, Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures, which won the prestigious Scotiabank Giller Prize. The book was on Canadian bestseller lists across the country including The Globe and Mail and Maclean’s. In 2010 Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures was adapted for television and broadcast on HBO Canada. This year, Vincent’s debut novel, The Headmaster’s Wager, was published and is now on The Globe and Mail’s and Maclean’s bestseller lists. Most recently, Vincent made the shortlist for the Governor General’s Literary Award. Vincent is also an emergency room physician in Toronto.
